Should you completely rebuild a website that is 8yrs old?
Probably a good idea so that it will be more easily edited in future (and will also be a bit more friendly with search engines like Google). If a website is now 8yrs old then when we first created the website it was done pretty much to the standards of the day, but web design has developed and the way we do things has changed (I think for the better) since then.
The site may need to be re-coded altogether, which would probably be a bit more work than just a minor update, but whether you want us to do that is up to you. There wouldn't be any huge or even noticeable difference at first, but over time I think it would make your site perform a little bit better in google searches, and it would also make future edits of the website easier.
On the other hand, the site will continue to function well into the future even if we leave it the way it is now, and the couple of hours work isn't really something we could do for free, so I'll leave it up to you if you want me to do what I'm proposing. If you want more information about what would be done and why I'll be happy to fill you in, but I'll leave it at that for now. Spending more money than is absolutely necessary is understandably a big clincher for many if not most of our clients, so I won't try too hard to sway you either way.
